Michelle Schreck is a Director at Flatiron Search Partners. A global People & Culture (HR) leader responsible for guiding executives through talent and organizational design decisions for high-growth brands, Michelle started her professional career on the agency side in IT recruitment. With the combination of her hands-on internal & external recruitment experience along with sitting in the operating role of Chief People Officer, she is able to offer a holistic talent approach to our clients.
Most recently, over the past 6 years, Michelle led the People & Culture function for VC & PE backed Tech e-commerce companies and for the CPG brand, The Vita Coco Company. As the first strategic People hire at these organizations, she was responsible for building and scaling the following areas from the ground up: Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement, People Operations, Learning & Development, Succession Planning, and Talent Management. Prior to her executive HR leadership roles, Michelle spent the first 8 years of her career learning the foundations as an HRBP and Recruiter at large retail & wellness companies (lululemon, Michael Kors, and Equinox).
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware. A fitness and wellness enthusiast, she is also a certified spin instructor and taught cycling classes at a boutique studio in Hoboken, NJ, for 7 years. While being a People & Culture leader is an important part of her identity, first and foremost she is wife to her husband, Joel, and mom to her two children, Carter & Summer.
